Üzümlü village lying just fifteen minutes from Kalkan, is a wonderfully picturesque hamlet nestled into the rolling hills of the Taurus mountain landscape. Üzümlü, originally named ‘Margaz’ literally translates to English to mean “with grapes” and with small wonder, as the village is infamous for its rows upon rows of flourishing vineyards, full of juicy Margaz grapes.
Much like the neighbouring villages of Islamlar and Berzigan, Üzümlü remains a traditional Turkish village with local life remaining much the same as it always has been, with farmers, carpenters and ancient stone mills still being put to use. Nature lovers and walking enthusiasts can enjoy splendid walks here, either following the footpaths of the ancient Lycian Way or simply through the village, milling through the vineyards and stopping at a local tea or Pide (delicious Turkish stone-oven baked pizza) shop for refreshment.
This quaint little community boasts spectacular views of the mountains as well as the seemingly endless white shores of Patara beach and its elevated position means this beautiful spot offers rather pleasing cooler climes within untouched nature. Properties here generally use stunning stone and traditional wood architecture, perfect for a unique holiday home experience and a truly peaceful getaway.
